Cross Stitch Needlework Kits
Asian art has often been expressed in textiles. Perhaps no other culture has made such use of color, geometric patterns and the representation of flora and fauna in garments that were actually meant to be worn. At Kooler Design Studio, we have translated the elegance of the Asian textile aesthetic into gorgeous projects for you to do in cross stitch. "Lotus Blossom" by Nancy Rossi is an excellent example. The harmony of the arrangement and the subtle interplay of colors express the attention to detail that characterizes this genre. Nancy also designed our "Asian Bell Pulls" kit, where once again her delicacy and grace are much in evidence. We have four exquisite portraits of Japanese women in breathtaking detail. "Asian Woman" and "Kameko," both stitched on black Aida cloth, would make a stunning pairing. Kameko plays a lute under Japanese lanterns, wearing a kimono woven with red flowers. The other woman carries a lantern and bends gracefully under her parasol in a russet kimono. The kimono our "Geisha" wears is even more elaborately decorated, in glorious pastels against a peach background. Classic elements such as the flowering branch, bird and traditional "chop mark" add to the authenticity. "Michiko" is a striking composition in reds, blues and violets against a sea-green background. The seated figure plays her lute with an expression of greatest serenity. Surely she will lend serenity to your surroundings as well. Kooler Design Studio, Inc. 3527 Mt.
