Hymns and Saving Graces

Earlier today I was trying to select a project from the Kooler Design Studio book America’s Best Loved Hymns Collection Three.  I love this book and the previous volumes because they not only contain lovely designs based on hymns I grew up singing, but they also have the stories behind the hymns and the hymn writers which satisfy my love of stitching and history at the same time!

I had the choice narrowed down between two selections (you will have to wait for a future post to see what I ended up selecting) when I noticed that my little Lhasa Apso, Girlie had snatched a piece of 18-count Aida (thankfully unstitched) from my fabric stash.  The chase was on, but not before she completely ruined the piece of fabric.  Good thing I had peace and love on my mind and didn’t lose my religion when she ruined that piece of fabric by chewing it up as I chased her – not that I could ever stay too angry with my fur-baby for too long.

Thinking about my Girlie reminded me that we have almost 200 charts of loveable pets in our 99 Cross-Stitch Luvable Pets and the second collection 100 More Cross-Stitch Luvable Pets.  Both books are filled with wonderful little motifs that represent almost any type of pet you can imagine from dogs and cats to mice and ferrets.  If you are looking for a Christmas or Hanukah gift for a hard-to-please family member who is also a pet owner, then these books need to be on your shelf!
