Heirloom Christmas Ornaments

Every Christmas I stitch a pair of special ornaments for my family members. I use tiny motifs from our various 555 books and stitch them on 18 ct Aida fabric. They fit perfectly in 2″ – 2 1/2″ small embroidery hoops that can be purchased at craft or fabric stores.  I bought mine from Michael’s. The designs are chosen to relate to each person. I keep a list of which designs I send to everyone so that they don’t get a duplicate.  Each member of the family loves their “Heirloom Christmas Ornaments”. They are a wonderful way to create a priceless yet economical gift for a loved one.

  3. What a fabulous idea! I’ve been cross-stitching my Christmas cards over the last few years and they have been a big hit! I may have to try your idea too!

  4. My mom and dad have been making Christmas ornaments for my sister and I for years. We received our first one in 1978 and there are no duplicates between us. They started giving ones to the grand kids after graduating from high school and still there are no duplicates. I look forward every year to see what they have made for us. I truly love and value each one. Love the way the tree looks when decorating with them. So glad they started the tradition.
