Sometimes printed canvases aren’t real clear about just where to place a stitch. It becomes a judgment call and some beginning stitchers don’t yet have confidence in their ability. Missy and I reached a compromise with her project. I have been stitching around the colored areas with the white background yarn so that she sees precisely where to fill in with color.
Actually, we’re killing two birds with one stone, so to speak. She gets an easier canvas to work from and the white background is stitched first so that there won’t be any colored fibers that can end up getting caught in the white yarn when it’s pulled through. Some experts recommend stitching the lighter colored areas first. I’ll keep you posted on our progress.
